Hikaru Cho is a Japanese artist with a fascination for realistic paint on the human body and other objects. These two skills blend together in a way that is unlike any other modern artist. Cho is perhaps best known for her ability to create surreal situations out of the ordinary.
She has worked in collaborations with companies such as Samsung, Amnesty International, and Shiseido, and TOYOBO, as well as solo shows in Japan and abroad.
While much of her work involves realistically painting the human body with fantastical or whimsical illustrations, she also paints objects. For example, in a series titled “It’s not what it seems,” Cho used painted over foods making them look like something entirely different. In one instance, painting over an egg to make it look like an eggplant.
Hikaru Cho’s vision is always creating something extraordinary out of the ordinary.
